WP 2.9 was a bitch to upgrade. The auto-update failed. Had to do a manual file and dbase backup. Then do a manual upgrade. That worked. I think it was a problem with the plugins. Had to move them around to deactivate the installed and active plugins then move them back after the upgrade. No worse for wear it seems. I removed the ones I don’t use.
