I’m packing now. It feels sad. It feels so final. I’m really going to miss it here.

I like gaming
I like gaming. Now a days I don’t do so much of it. I spend a lot of time thinking about doing it and trying to find time to do it. And I often consider what games to play. Part of the problem is that I don’t have as much time. Another is that games aren’t made like they used to be. There just aren’t releases like back in the 90s or even the early 2000s.
I like playing RPGs and strategy games. Sometimes I stray but it seems that I return to these genres. I especially like RPGs with a player created team or at least fully player controlled with tactical combat. AD&D gold box games started me on computer gaming. I’ve played strategy games for as long as I can remember. But the first computer game I was interested in was Wing Commander. And I still like space flight sims. I regret that I’ve never played Freespace 2. I regret that I never finished Freespace 1. I regret never playing Independance War. But I can’t make time for this stuff. I’m busy wasting my time with Guild Wars and not being rewarded with good gaming sessions. At least not enough of them.
So here I am with a craving for a game. I should play more Civ4. I think I will even pony up some more money for the full collection. I certainly have played it enough. But my recent attempt at retro adventure gaming has only been mildly successful. I like Full Throttle OK enough. But it isn’t that interesting. I’ve never been THAT big into adventure games though I’ve played my share. I DO want to try Grim though. But tracking that down will be a PITA. And perhaps I really should go and play Baulder’s Gate 2 but I don’t want to for some reason. I’m sure I would enjoy it. And I still intend to try Vampire the Masquerade. I’m not sure why. But in truth, I long for more Temple of Elemental Evil. Or more Jagged Alliance. Maybe I just need to track that down and get the player made mods. And Neverwinter Nights, one and two, are titles I probably should try.
But the next game I will really play is Wizardry 8. I was looking for a review again. And stumbled upon some stuff. I think I did in fact know this a while ago but Scorpia has a webpage. But she will stop adding to it soon. That brings back memories. And I should probably look into some indie games. They might work well with my netbook and maybe I can find something that satisfies the hunger I have for a RPG. I’m interested because I’m reading some indie developer’s blog. And it is fascinating. http://rampantgames.com
